Hello! We’re Minato and Mirai♪
GREEN EXPO 2027 is finally just one year away!
More and more new updates are coming in.
The GREEN EXPO venue is in Kamiseya(上瀬谷), a little inland compared to central Yokohama. While access options are still being planned, if you’re coming from out of town, you’re probably wondering where to book a hotel to make getting to the venue as easy as possible, right?
So, based on what’s known as of now, we researched convenient areas for access and recommended places to stay—and we’ll share them with you♪
How to Get to the Venue
As of February 2026, the main access options announced are as follows. Things may change going forward, but this should still be a helpful reference.
- Shuttle buses from nearby railway stations
- Sotetsu Line(相鉄線): Seya Station(瀬谷駅) / Mitsukyo Station(三ツ境駅)
- JR Yokohama Line(JR横浜線): Tokaichiba Station(十日市場駅)
- Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line(東急田園都市線): Minami-Machida Grandberry Park Station(南町田グランベリーパーク駅)
- Direct buses from airports and major stations
- Haneda Airport(羽田空港)
- Yokohama Station(横浜駅)
- Shin-Yokohama Station(新横浜駅)
- Other major terminal stations in central Tokyo, etc.

The key point is that access is expected to be especially strong from the Yokohama Station area. You’ll likely be able to use the Sotetsu Line, the JR Yokohama Line, or direct buses departing from Yokohama Station.
Direct buses from Haneda Airport and Shin-Yokohama Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen also seem ideal for travelers who want to head straight to the venue from afar.
Shin-Yokohama, in particular, has several reasonably priced hotels around the station, so it could be a great choice.
Minami-Machida Grandberry Park Station also looks convenient when coming from the Shibuya area.
How to Get to the GREEN×EXPO 2027 Venue from Yokohama & Minato Mirai?
So, what will access from central Yokohama and Minato Mirai to the GREEN EXPO 2027 venue look like?
There may be a chance that direct buses will operate from the Minato Mirai area, but since nothing has been officially announced, if we organize what’s currently stated as “under consideration,” it seems there will likely be three main options.
- From Sakuragicho Station(JR桜木町駅), take the JR Yokohama Line ⇒ Tokaichiba Station ⇒ shuttle bus to the venue
- From the bus terminal in front of Yokohama Station (YCAT?) ⇒ direct bus to the venue
- From Sakuragicho Station or Minato Mirai Line stations(みなとみらい線各駅) ⇒ Yokohama Station ⇒ Mitsukyo Station or Seya Station on the Sotetsu Line ⇒ shuttle bus to the venue

From Minato Mirai, the most convenient options may be the JR Yokohama Line (which can take you to a nearby station in one go) or a direct bus. Since many trains start from Sakuragicho, you may even be able to get a seat for a smoother ride.
The Sotetsu Line route could be a bit less convenient, as the transfer at Yokohama Station often involves some walking.
Direct buses will depend on the bus stop location, but areas within Minato Mirai that are closer to Yokohama Station (such as Hilton Yokohama and The Kahala Hotel, etc.) may be especially well-positioned for easy access to bus stops.

Recommended Areas to Stay Other Than Yokohama / Minato Mirai
Yokohama / Minato Mirai is convenient and offers that classic Yokohama vibe—but some people may want to stay closer to the venue, or simply keep costs down. So, we looked for other promising areas besides Yokohama / Minato Mirai.
Shin-Yokohama Station Area
A super convenient station where the Tokaido Shinkansen and the JR Yokohama Line intersect, and where you can also use Tokyu, Sotetsu, and the Subway Blue Line(地下鉄ブルーライン). It offers easy access not only to Yokohama, but also to Shinagawa, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Osaka—while also providing excellent convenience for getting to the GREEN EXPO 2027 venue.

It’s about 11 minutes on the JR Yokohama Line to Tokaichiba Station (4 stops on a local train). You can also reach the area via the Sotetsu Line either directly or with one transfer. And we can also hope for direct bus service.
Compared to Yokohama Station, it’s closer to the venue, and hotel prices are generally lower than in Yokohama / Minato Mirai, making it more budget-friendly.
That said, because it’s so convenient, prices may rise during the expo—so it’s definitely an area you’ll want to consider early.

Ebina / Yamato Area
This area is on the west side of the Sotetsu Line—on the opposite side of the venue from Yokohama / Minato Mirai.
Yamato Station(大和駅) is one stop away from Seya Station on the Sotetsu Line, and it’s also a transfer station to the Odakyu Enoshima Line(小田急江ノ島線).
Ebina Station(海老名駅) is the terminal station of the Sotetsu Line, and a transfer station to the Odakyu Odawara Line(小田急小田原線). From Seya Station, it’s 5 local stops away.

Both areas are closer to the venue than Yokohama, and they’re also on the opposite side from central Yokohama—so compared to staying on the Yokohama side, you may be able to travel more comfortably with relatively less crowding.
Hotels around both stations are mainly business hotels, and prices tend to be a bit more affordable. If you want to keep your stay budget-friendly, this is a strong option!
That said, compared to central Yokohama or the Shin-Yokohama area, the number of hotels is more limited—so competition for rooms could get intense.

Musashi-Kosugi Area
Musashi-Kosugi(武蔵小杉) could also be a surprisingly good option. There are direct trains from JR Musashi-Kosugi(武蔵小杉) toward the Sotetsu Line area, making it easy to reach Mitsukyo and Seya. Another plus is that it’s convenient both for central Tokyo (Shinagawa, Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku) and for Yokohama.

Narita Express (N’EX)—the JR limited express train from Narita Airport—stops at Musashi-Kosugi Station.

Kawasaki Area
The Kawasaki Station(川崎駅) area also has many hotels, and prices can be slightly lower than central Yokohama or central Tokyo.
From Kawasaki Station to the venue, you’ll likely first go to Yokohama Station via JR or the Keikyu Line(京急線), and then continue via the JR Yokohama Line, the Sotetsu Line, or a direct bus.

The east side of Kawasaki Station can feel a bit less comfortable in terms of atmosphere, but if you choose your location carefully—like staying right near the station—you should still be able to find a great, budget-friendly hotel!

Staying in Tokyo? Shinagawa to Kamata, or Near Haneda Airport Might Be Convenient
There are many options in central Tokyo, but considering how easy it is to reach Yokohama and the venue, areas like Shinagawa(品川) could be good candidates.
Another option is to stay around Kamata(蒲田) or near Haneda Airport and use a direct bus from the airport. It may end up being more affordable than staying right in the middle of Tokyo—while also balancing access to the venue, the airport, and the city center.

For central Tokyo, keep an eye out for future updates on additional direct bus routes.
