Why Free Viewing Areas Are Not Recommended

• It can be hard to know where the best viewing spots are
• They are extremely crowded
  • You may need to reserve a spot on the riverbank hours in advance
  • Temporary toilets often have very long lines and may not be clean
  • Especially after the event, roads become crowded, and it may take hours to return to your hotel, possibly late at night

In free viewing areas, good spots are often taken very early by locals, so the best locations tend to fill up quickly.

In recent years, paid seating areas have also been expanding. At some festivals, fences may be set up, making free viewing very limited or almost impossible.

For these reasons, we do not recommend aiming for free viewing.
