We’ve picked the best options for flights, transport, hotels, and activities — so you know exactly where to book.

Book Hotels Early for the Port Opening Festival (June) & Fireworks Festival (August)!

Although no official announcements have been made yet, if things follow the usual schedule, two major fireworks events are expected to be held again in 2026.

  • The 45th Yokohama Port Opening Festival (2026)
    • June 1 (Mon) and June 2 (Tue), 2026
      • If the schedule follows previous years, fireworks will be launched on the evening of the 2nd (Tue).
  • Minato Mirai Smart Festival (First Monday of August)
    • It is usually held on the first Monday of August — so it may fall on August 3 (Mon) this year?

If the schedule follows previous years, these will be the expected dates. Even though they fall on weekdays, rooms with fireworks views are extremely popular and tend to fill up quickly, so early booking is recommended.
However, until official information is released, you may want to choose a plan with free cancellation.

Choosing a hotel in Yokohama where you can see fireworks: here are the key points!

Each hotel offers a different atmosphere and view.
If you’re thinking, “I absolutely want to see the fireworks!” it’s a good idea to check the following points before booking ◎

Choose a “Bay View” room orientation

A room facing the sea or the harbor is a must!
The naming varies by hotel, so look for words such as “Bay View,” “Harbor View,” or “Ocean View.”

Aim for a high floor!

To avoid having your view blocked by surrounding buildings or the Ferris wheel, it’s safest to choose a high floor, such as the 20th floor or above.
Be careful, as some hotels may have limited visibility from mid- to low-floor rooms!

When booking, write “prefer a room with a fireworks view” in the remarks section

→ Even if the plan does not guarantee fireworks viewing, letting the hotel know your preference may mean they can take it into consideration ◎
Especially at popular hotels, it’s first come, first served, so if possible, you’ll want to add a short note in the remarks section!

Enjoy not only the fireworks, but also the night view!

Every hotel here offers spectacular views of the Minato Mirai Ferris wheel, the Bay Bridge, and the harbor at night!
Even if “whether you can see the fireworks depends on luck,” these hotels are still absolutely worth it just for the scenery alone♪

Summary|Enjoy fireworks in comfort at a luxury hotel!

When you go out to enjoy fireworks in Yokohama, if you feel like “treating yourself a little,” watching the fireworks from a hotel is something I highly recommend!
It’s perfect for anniversaries too, and there’s something special about spending that kind of spacious, unhurried time talking with someone important to you.

We hope you find your favorite hotel and enjoy the best fireworks experience possible!
